Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Jay's Fort Lauderdale ("Jay's," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit this website.

Information We Collect

We collect the information you choose to provide through our forms:

  • Email list (“Get on the List”): your email address.
  • Omakase waitlist: your name, email address and, if you add it, your phone number, so we can tell you when new omakase nights go on sale. If you also opt in to texts, your date of birth, to confirm you're 21 or older.
  • Private event inquiries: your name, email address, phone number, event details and any message you send us. Most event inquiries are submitted through Tripleseat, our event booking provider.
  • Careers application: your name, email address, phone number, the position you're interested in, your availability, what you tell us about your experience, and any resume or LinkedIn link you include.
  • VIP text list: your first name, mobile number, date of birth (to confirm you're 21 or older) and, if you add it, your email address, with a record of your consent: the wording you agreed to, the date and time, the page you signed up on and the page you came from, how you reached it (for example a QR code or an email), your browser type and, where our systems record it, your IP address. Joining the text list doesn't add your email address to our email list. See Text Messaging (SMS) below.

We do not collect payment or financial information through this website.

How We Use Your Information

We use event inquiries to respond to you and to plan and coordinate your event. We use the email list and the omakase waitlist to send you news, invitations and offers from Jay's; every email has an unsubscribe link. We use job applications only to consider you for a position at Jay's and to contact you about it.

How Your Information Is Shared

Form submissions are transmitted by our form-delivery, email and database providers (FormSubmit, Mailchimp and Supabase) for the sole purpose of delivering your message to our team or keeping our lists and records. Mobile numbers and text-message opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes (see Text Messaging (SMS) below). Our analytics and advertising providers (Google and Meta) receive information about your visit, as described under Cookies & Third-Party Tools below. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law.

Text Messaging (SMS)

If you join Jay's VIP text list, we collect your mobile number, name and the date and time you gave consent, and we use them only to send you the text messages you signed up for. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from all other information-sharing described in this policy and will not be shared with any third parties. We may share your number with the service provider that sends our messages, only to deliver them.

Cookies & Third-Party Tools

We use cookies and similar tools to run the site, understand how it is used, and measure our advertising:

  • Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads measure visits, which pages and buttons are used, and whether a visit came from one of our ads.
  • The Meta Pixel measures visits and actions such as joining our email list or clicking through to book, so we can measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram.
  • When you arrive from one of our ads, we keep that ad's campaign details (such as Google's click ID) in a cookie on our own site for up to 90 days, so we can tell which ads lead to reservations.
  • Our accessibility widget (UserWay) may store your accessibility preferences.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work. Reservations (OpenTable), private event inquiries (Tripleseat) and dining credit offers (inKind, shown on desktop computers, which may set its own cookies) are handled by third-party providers governed by their own privacy policies. When you book through our site, we pass the ad campaign details from your visit (such as a Google click ID) to OpenTable so we can tell which ads lead to bookings.

Ads & Your Choices

Google and Meta may collect information about your visits to this and other websites over time to measure and personalize ads. You can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ad Settings, in your Meta ad preferences and through the Digital Advertising Alliance. This site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no common standard for them; the choices above and your browser's cookie settings are the way to limit tracking.

Data Retention

We retain inquiry information for as long as necessary to respond to your request and to maintain our business records. We keep job applications for as long as we may consider them for openings. We keep text-message consent and opt-out records for at least five years after you leave the VIP text list, so we can show when you agreed and when you asked us to stop.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have provided by contacting us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date above.
